#MusicMonday: 30 January – 5 February 2017

Guess what, it’s that time again…

Time for yet another brilliant instalment of our weekly music round-up series, #MusicMonday, and it’s not a day late! We know, we know, we were totally slacking last week, but you can’t blame us – we’ve been so busy as of late that we found ourselves falling asleep at our desks before we could write up last week’s column. But we’ve finally caught up and are back with a handful of great tracks that are sure to jumpstart your week!

So tuck in! We’re sure you’ll find something you like.

Basement – ‘Promise Everything’

Late last week, Basement announced that they’d left Run For Cover Records and jumped over to Fueled By Ramen, and to accompany their announcement, they also informed us that they’d be re-releasing their third album Promise Everything. The first track they decided to tease us with? A new version of the album’s title track!

While we like the initial version of ‘Promise Everything’, we absolutely adore Basement’s new take on it! What do you think? Be sure to shoot us a tweet and let us know!

The Ready Set & CAll Me Karizma – ‘Cotton Candy’

The Ready Set surely is one busy guy. Over the past few weeks, he’s been on a role, dishing out killer single after killer single. And guess what! He’s continuing that trend with the electric-pop gold mine that is ‘Cotton Candy’. Even better? He teamed up with Call Me Karizma to make it pop even more!

We’re certainly hoping for more tracks like this!

Courage My Love – Synesthesia

The wait is over: Courage My Love have finally released their new album, Synesthesia!

A much more poppier release than what we’re used to hearing from the band, it’s definitely one that plays to their strengths. Tracks like ‘Stereo’, ‘Animal Heart’ and ‘Dirt’ are standouts, with their insanely infectious sound, and are without a doubt going to grab the attention of both fans and critics.

Hopefully, the band are planning on going on tour in support of the album. We need to hear these songs live ASAP!

Imagine Dragons – ‘Believer’

They’re back. Who’s back? Imagine Dragons are back (No, we totally didn’t sing that in some weird tune that only exists in our heads).

Imagine Dragons have made their long-awaited return with their new single ‘Believer’. A track that channels an almost AWOLNATION sort of vibe, it’s something new for the band – and something that works. Pair it with their signature drums and strong vocals, and it’s definitely likely that it’ll be their next big hit.

Now, if only we could get a new album.

Ariana Grande & John Legend – ‘Beauty And The Beast’

Ready to feel some nostalgia from your childhood?

The live action movie for Beauty and the Beast is only a few weeks away from release, and to further increase the anticipation surrounding it, Disney have released the newly imagined version of the film’s theme! If you ever wondered what an Ariana Grande and John Legend duet would sound like, this track sates your curiosity.

What did you think of our list? Be sure to share your thoughts with us on Twitter and Facebook.

I absolutely LOVE how ecclectic this is. I’m definitely going to use this to power through the rest of the work week. Out of the five, if you had to choose one as your favorite, which one would it be?
