#MusicMonday: 23-29 January 2017

How would you feel about taking a jet to peru to be a warrior with the one you consider to be eternally yours?

Did that sentence make you cringe as much as it made us? We know, we know, but it’s hard sometimes to come up with a super cool and witty intro, so we have to go with what our sad little minds come up with. And while it might be cringe-y, it is a good representation of the music we were jamming to this week. From Motionless In White to LIGHTS, we’ve got a full spectrum of genres to present to you.

So dive right on in! We hope you like our picks.

Senses Fail – ‘Jets to Peru’

Starting off our list are the one and only Senses Fail, who announced earlier this week that they would be releasing an acoustic EP this March. To support the announcement, the band also released the EP’s lead single ‘Jets To Peru’, which is everything we wanted and more.

If you’ve been wanting to listen to some easy-listening Senses Fail, then we highly suggest you give this track a listen.

Steve James ft. LIGHTS – ‘Warrior’

What do you get when you pair LIGHTS’ wonderful lyrics with Steve James‘ beats? You get ‘Warrior’, an empowering anthem for those of us who needs a pick me up. Trust us, this song will leave you feeling like a badass.

To be honest, we greatly missed LIGHTS and we’re hoping this track is the first of many we’ll be hearing from her this year. We need more of her music in our lives.

Dangerkids – blacklist_

It’s finally here and we couldn’t be more excited! Dangerkids have officially released their new full-length blacklist_ and it’s definitely up there on our list of albums you need to listen to NOW, especially if you’re a fan of Linkin Park and post-hardcore. We’re serious. Stop what you’re doing and jam this album for the next half-hour or so. You’ll be happy you did.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for our review of the album! Although, you might already know what we’re going to say…

Motionless In White – ‘Eternally Yours’

Motionless In White are heading down the heavy route with ‘Eternally Yours’ and we’re absolutely loving it! We missed the band’s heavy sound, and we super glad it’s back with this track.

The band announced they’ll be releasing their new album early this year, and if the rest of the songs sound like this then we know we’ll be happy campers!

Summer Wars & High Wire – SPlit EP

Closing out our list is the new split EP from Summer Wars and High Wire. A relatively short release at only four tracks, it’s one we’ve been listening to on repeat since it came out. Whether you’re a fan of pop-punk or are looking for something new to blast in your ears, we highly recommend this EP. You’ll be hooked from the first track.
